Following the success of the award-winning Behavioural Measurement Score® (a proven methodology for measuring staff behaviours to improve their customer experience delivery), Performance in People (PiP) is exploring a new concept for introducing a Workplace Behaviours (WBS) measurement tool.

What is WBS?

PiP prides itself on being a great place to work and sees that it’s through the great behaviours its people display. So, PiP is in the process of trialling a Workplace Behaviours measurement methodology by pulling together ‘what good looks like’, and exploring the opposing opportunities for improvements.

Similar to the BMS® model, PiP has defined a list of the key behaviours that impact most on the workplace and employee relationships. In addition, alongside each behaviour is a definitive list of contributing positive and negative characteristics.

What are the behaviours?

PiP has defined the 4 key workplace behaviours as Friendly, Enthusiastic, Professional and Supportive – and some examples of those contributing characteristics include;

An invaluable tool to encourage a great working culture

Even though we are in the early stages of development and testing, we are extremely excited about the WBS concept! This could be an invaluable tool for any organisation to use for encouraging a great working environment and culture, through exhibiting great behaviours.

Using WBS for recruitment

There could also be opportunities to further develop this model for recruitment, because in the first instance, finding the right people, with the right behaviours is crucial (as the common saying goes “recruit for behaviour, train for skill”!)
