On Friday 10th November, Performance in People attempted to run a Marathon during the working day. 21 staff volunteers ran, jogged and walked on a treadmill to try and reach the 26.2-mile goal and raise money for a local charity.
Along with the challenge, there were a number of activities to raise money including a raffle to win an extra day of annual leave, guess the number of sweets in the jar and a pick ’n mix stall.
The 26.2-mile goal was absolutely smashed with just over 38 miles completed. Performance in People raised a total of £1,169 for Wight Aid, a local charity who fund organisations, charities and groups that aim to improve the lives of people living on the Isle of Wight.
PiP are very passionate about doing their bit for charity and having fun at the same time. They have raised £1000’s over the years, but want to go that extra mile in 2023/2024 – the ‘Treadmill Challenge’ is a fantastic start to PiP’s biggest charity target yet!
A big thank you to everyone who helped and donated to achieve (and exceed!) our Treadmill challenge for Wight Aid!
